Resume of the II International Competition related to energy efficiency at Youth Day ENES 2016

IMG_7591On November 25-th 2016, during the Youth day ENES 2016 at the stand UNDP/GEF took place the presentation of the projects and award ceremony of the II International contest determining the best energy saving and energy efficient projects conducted between university degree students and doctoral students from Russian Federation, CIS and European Union Countries.

The Contest was organized by UNDP-GEF project “Building energy efficiency in the North-West of Russia” with support of the Ministry of Science and Education of Russian Federation.

The general committee of the contest was presented by:

  • Medvedevskaya Ludmila, Head of Network Management Department of the Russian Ministry of Science and Education subordinate organizations
  • Ageev Maxim, Head of energy bureau of the Directorate of service in energy management “Schneider Electric”
  • Akim Michael, VP of strategic development ABB Russia;
  • Bulgakova Irina, CEO of RAESKO;
  • Belov Anton, Deputy director for regional development sales Ltd “Danfoss”
  • Usievich Vladimir, CEO of LLC «SberEnergyDevelopment»

Visitors of the event included: John О’Braуan, regional technical advisor of UNDP projects, Moskalev Alexandr chief technical advisor of the project for the implementation of the educational components, and Kurochkina Olga, School № 1547 Deputy Director, management of this school pays great attention to energy saving and energy efficiency.

The best projects of the contest prizewinners were represented at the event:

Hudyakov Il`ya from Northern (Arctic) Federal University presented a project: “Update of automated power consumption metering system in NarFU Lomonosov”.

Ushakov Konstantin from Kuzbas State technical university named after T.F. Gorbachev presented a project «Use of video hosting and social networks to popularize energy saving», developed in cooperation with Kirilov Kirill.

The project: «Creation of an integrated center for resource efficiency of Tomsk Polytechnic University» was presented by Morozov Maksim from Tomsk polytechnic university. This project was completed in cooperation with Bichkova Alena and Ushakov Roman.

Gorohov Alexey from Moscow state university of food production presented a project: “Optimization of refrigeration equipment by the use of electric-physical methods”.

IMG_7598Tabakova Anastasya from Saint-Petersburg polytechnic university named after Peter the Great presented a project: «The set of measures to promote energy savings and energy efficiency with the use of university potential».

Eva Danovskaya set up a game-quest related to energy saving «Trail of energy saving», in cooperation with students from school № 1547: Luk`yanova Alexandra, David Cerunyan, Darya Maksimova, Mariya Nasonova.

Members of the general committee commented on the presented at the contest projects and offered further opportunities for their implementation and development.

Usievich Vladimir mentioned the prospects of the project, presented by Alexey Gorohov and awarded participants with memorable books.

Akim Michael was interested with the project of Ushakov Konstantin and mentioned it as the important and necessary instrument to popularize energy saving.

Frolov Vladimir mentioned the project of Eva Danovskaya with the participation of high school students. Work with school students is very important and necessary step in promoting the ideas of energy saving and energy efficiency.

John O’Bryan, regional technical advisor of UNDP projects mentioned that the contest plays important role in support of the students` projects in popularization of energy saving and expressed a desire to continue cooperation in order to implement and replicate the experience gained in the development of the demonstration sites established under the UNDP-GEF project «Building energy efficiency in the North-West of Russia».

All winners and laureates were awarded with prizes, certificates and souvenirs from the partners of the competition.
